The Best Emerald Centre?
Written by AlexKennedy1999
Emerald Joel Embiid is one of the best emerald centres, maybe even one the best emeralds in my opinion. I run him as my 3rd centre on a team of diamonds, amethysts and rubys and he holds his own against sapphires and rubys if I want to swap him in at the 4 or 5.
Bought for: 4,900 MT
Shooting: 85 mid, 81 three with a decent, easy to learn. He can catch defenders napping in the paint when he pops threes. Only really shoot if truly open though. Also sinks FTs (78 rating).
Post Defence: Elite shot blocker. I always end up using him in weekly challenges involving blocks or rebounds & always get the job done. Holds his own as well with 80 strength.
- Inside Scoring: It's good, but not great so I thought I'd add it. Hook and fade in the 70s and good finishing ability inside
Defence: Slow on D with 40 Lateral Quickness. Sometimes gets beat 1V1
- Passing: Sometime throws away long passes. I'd recommend Break Starter badge for Embiid.
Recommended Strategy: "Take the ball inside, but don't be afraid to shoot, as he'll knock down open jumpers.
Use if: "You want a lockdown Centre with the ability to stretch the floor"
Don't use if: "You need a playmaking Big man or ELITE post scoring"
NOTE: As of February 11, this card has a dynamic duo with Sapphire Jrue Holiday. He only goes up 46 points, but the only "big change" is a move up to 84 offensive rebound.
Bottom Line: "Great value for the MT, Pick up if you can!"
