Best blocking PG of all time. Howether I feel that his clutch play on the Celtics has made people forget about his "WTF it's even worse than John Starks" game 7 performance in the 1978 finals, which is completely forgotten for some reason. If you don't know about it it was somehow worse than Starks' 1994 performance, I'm not lying.

1978? Starks wasn't in the league at that time

I said Johnson's performance was even worse than Starks 1994 fiasco.

Don't know much about him. Does he deserve a 89 overall? No hate just curious

    2

He was finals MVP that year, so based on that, they could've given him an amethyst.

Yes. He is a pretty good player. He gave the supersonics/thunder their only finals win. Even though durant and Westbrook should win the finals once. And Payton should have a finals win also

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but in my opinion the '96 Supersonics were incredible over-achievers and even making the finals out of the west was a great accomplishment. I feel they have been the first to play up-tempo shooting game and that paid dividends in that age and time, but personnel wise they were greatly out-matched compared to many other contemporaries, Bulls included.

I think the main reason they lost was because Ervin Johnson and Vincent Askew, usually outstanding role players, played like absolute garbage in the Finals and it cost them. Also Hersey Hawkins often failed to meet his usual scoring numbers. Payton and Kemp really did all they could to carry the team but the ultimate reason they got eliminated was that they flat out just couldn't keep Rodman off the boards. He set a Finals record of 11 offensive boards in the series and then tied it later in the series and that really killed them. Must have sucked for Payton to limit Jordan like he did only for his team to lose
