Whatchu Talkin bout Willis

Written by ogmacbone

I was debating between Willis and Dave Cowens because I wanted an amethyst center for my squad and I didn't have enough for a Bill Walton or what I HAD originally wanted, the DPOY Dwight. Needless to say, I won't be needing those cards anymore because Willis is absurd. Yeah hes a bit undersized, but he's strong and gets boards and blocks over much bigger centers (Lakers Wilt, DPOY Dwight, DPOY Robinson, Lakers Kareem, etc) His shooting is also very good as he can face up and hit shots from just about anywhere inside the three point line. One weakness of his is that also his post moves are rated very high, I have found they are inconsistent.

Bought for: 11,850 MT

Strengths:

  • Rebounding (outboards everyone I've used except maybe Bill Russell and MVP Wilt)
  • Blocks 90+ rating explains itself
  • while his dunks aren't the fanciest, he dunks over just about anyone and gets tons of putbacks
  • speed and acceleration are pretty good for a center

Weaknesses:

  • post moves aren't the most reliable, at least for me
  • a little undersized, but if you run a big lineup use him at power forward

Recommended strategy- if you use a big lineup, have him at power forward because he will absolutely bully them or in a small lineup put him at center and just obliterate the other team Use if: you want a strong rebounding center who can net you a double double every game

Don't use if: you want a huge center or someone with Kareem-esque post moves Bottom Line: pick him up now he goes for mad cheap and hes underrated and really good
