If KD and the Warriors go to the next 5-6 Finals and take all of them (or almost all) against LeBron or sb else, how will this affect KD's legacy as a basketball player and how will LBJ rank amongst the greats?
Lebron is already cemented in the top 3 NBA players of all time for sure. If KD stays with the Warriors and manages to get a few rings over the next few years, that would only bolster his credentials as one of the greatest small forwards in NBA history. I think there will still be people who say he's a snake, and that he "cheated" his way into getting any rings he wins, though. His decision will definitely be remembered more than that of Lebron.
i think that if KD wants to be remembered as a good player he should go back to OKC and try to win the ring because if not he will always be the player who joint the enemy instead of trying to fight
So KD couldn't be considered as a top 5 or top 10 player all time no matter what?
lebron would still one of the bests players and better than kd imo
Top 10 all time? top 5? top 3?
LeBron is second already lmao
Is he? I mean there are guys such as Kareem or Magic or Wilt or Kobe
neither as good as LeBron
What's your top 5?
mj, bron, shaq, hakeem, wilt
honestly hakeem is the most versatile center ever
He had the full package, that's true
exactly my point
magic and kobe aren't even top 5
I agree with Kobe, Magic might be tho
he is the 2nd imo
What's your top 10 ranked?
idk tbh but mj is 1st and lebron 2nd
ok top 5 then?
mj, lebron, kareem, shaq, hakeem or wilt
I would say MJ, Kareem, Magic, Wilt, James in that order, then add Hakeem Shaq Duncan Kobe and Bird for the rest of the top 10
lebron too low and magic too high imo but it's ok
I admire Magic so much because he could play every position on the floor, had mad passing skills and is a great guy on and off the court. He's been the example for many kids int he 80's, sadly I could only watch videos of him play when I was younger
a C would fuck him at the 5 but he is very all around
Of course lol dude was a PG
However though he played excellent as a Center in the NBA Finals in his rookie season (and got the finals mvp)
How about KD? Will he be one of the greats then? top 20 maybe?
he's already top 15 for me. If he wins 5 titles and continues to play at a high level he'll be top 10 for sure maybe top 5
Who's in your top 5 as of now?
how is magic that high same with kobe
magic because he is one of the best passers of all time plus he's legendary. Kobe because I'm a wee little bit biased
Magic hasnt done anything without Kareem on his team
yes, but Kareem never really did anything without magic or Oscar
Oscar was old at the point he was playing with Kareem
His numbers, other than rebounding, had been pretty consistent up until that year. I think he might of dropped to 25 points opposed to 30 or something the year before but he still had really good numbers. The reason for the bigger dropoff was because he was playing with someone averaging 34 points lol
34 points and around 17 rebounds if i recall correctly. Thats kinda better than anything Oscar put up in his career
yeah I'm just saying Oscar wasn't completely washed up at that point
Remember that one time when Kareem was injured and Magic had to play literally every position?
Lemme get this straight, you think kobe, magic, and Shaq were better than Lebron?
yep without a second thought
You're joking right?
not at all. LeBron is 3-4 in the finals.
3-5 now lol
LeBron is a better player than those other guys but he's not as great as those guys
So he's better but he's not better
he's a better player but he doesn't have "it"
Smh what is "it"
what Jordan had. What Kobe had. what shaq had. The ability to step up in the big moments and take over
Have you watched this series or most of lebrons playoff series
I'm not sure on the stats but LeBron missed quite a few shots in the last 5 minutes
He had to play over 40 minutes a game with barely any help, plus he was guarded by Kevin Durants long snakey ass who is an excellent defender. You can't rank players by them being clutch. There are 48 minutes in a basketball game not 5
yes you can. The last 5 minutes show how much will power you have
Wow you really don't get it. The last five minutes don't determine a players legacy because a players legacy should be about how good they were at playing basketball, not about how clutch they were
how good of a player he is determines how good he is. Legacy is determined by achievements and how dominant a player is. I'm not trying to hate on LeBron. I like LeBron for the most part. The only reason I slightly dislike him is because of his fans
So you're going to ignore all of Lebrons moments in the playoffs and the times that he has just flipped a switch to become better an absolute fucking freight train, and look straight at team accomplishments and the last moments of a game to determine how great he his compared to the other greats. In my opinion that is ridiculous. Players should be ranked by how good they were throughout their career, how good they were prime wise, and how much they actually help a team win. Your points of the last five minutes should just be a small factor.
he has had some great moments but not as many as some other players and not in as many high pressure situations
That doesn't mean that much when Lebron is the better player
Jordan is better than LeBron. Kareem is better than LeBron. Shaq is better than LeBron. Lebron is slightly better than Kobe, but Kobe takes over games. Lebron is also slightly better than magic but did a better job taking games over and making his team better
But Lebron is still better than Kobe and magic. Plus you're acting like Lebron just hides from the spotlight. Plus Lebron is better than Shaq and probably Kareem.
he doesn't hide from the spotlight anymore. He used to. He just can't take over games when it matters like Kobe shaq and magic could
But he's the greater player. The man has 8 finals appearances with 3 rings where only one of his finals losses was his fault. That's amazing especially for a 32 year old
how is only one his fault? He's had a super team 7 of the 8 finals
I mean he only performed poorly in one and the past three finals he's been absolutely phenomenal
last year he was. This year he was good but not as good as Durant
I feel I remember correctly Lebron averaged like 32 12 and 10. I don't give a flying fuck about what numbers a prime Durant put up, but those numbers are amazing
so do you agree that LeBron was great but durant was slightly better?
I believe Durant was able to play better because he was in a better situation
Before respond to that, what was your finals prediction? Please be honest
Cavs in seven because I thought role players would show up more. Plus I don't like the warriors so I was biased. I was silently thinking warriors in 6
even if you were thinking warriors in 6 than the warriors outplayed your expectations and kd led the warriors. Sorry for the late response I was at basketball camp
Kd had Stephen curry, klay, and draymond
yes but kd played the best out of all of them. Draymond didn't have that great of a series either
Draymond is pretty much there for moving the ball and defense but he still plays a vital role. Durant did play well, but I feel that Lebron would have played even better if he didn't have to carry the cavs over such a huge obstacle as the warriors
you have to agree that kyrie played well though
That was all he had lol
Kevin love played really well except for game 5 because he got in foul trouble
Sure but after that it fell off and you can't have that vs the warriors
yes I would agree LeBron didn't have as much help as Durant but he had more help than 2015 and slightly more than last year
lebron played alone whole 4th quarter..
He did nothing in 4th tho
he hit a couple shots. LeBron didn't hit a single jumper in the 4th all he had were layups
Not bad either
Lebron is top 10? top 20?
7. Tim Duncan
8. Larry legend
10. Bill Russel
He's top 13 ATM, he could make top 10
Where would you put LBJ?
Like what's the difference in one spot
fine top 3
i think he will be top 20 but idk if he will reach higher tops
He's already top 20 easily
Will he still be remembered for his decision to join GSW?
My point is, if he manages to win a lot of rings with this team, will people remember him for his move or forget about it (like in LBJ's case)??
with the lebron case do you mean when he left cavs or miami?
Cavs most of all
Leaving Miami wasn't considered a weak move by many
but when he left cavs he left a trash team but KD left a good team after saying he wouldn't leave
I mean, you have a point
However, how will KD be remembered?
it depends, if he retires at the warriors he will be remembered as a traitor but if he goes back to OKC and he tries to win the ring with them (even if he don't win it) many people would forgive him
I've actually seen many people say that and can't understand it
You criticise him for not being loyal and then you criticise him for being loyal lol
the biggest problem for me isn't that he left, the problem for me is how he left: he criticised some players bacause they left OKC and he said he wouldn't leave and then he left when everybody thought he was going to stay and he joined GSW who had defeated OKC that year
I agree with that, we had a couple of nice deals with Dipo, Ilyasova and Sabonis but I can't put all the blame on him. As a thunder fan, we should've never traded Harden..
one of the 3 had to leave and harden was the worse
If we had payed a small tax we could keep him here
yeah but i think westbrook, harden and KD would have had problem because all of them need too much the ball
Could've went to the Finals for another year or two though, maybe get a ring too
Then chemistry problems would occur
yeah but i think that if harden had stayed he would be as good as nowadays
kd isnt even top 30
I can't think of 30 players who were better than KD is though
hes only 28yrs old. lets just wait 6-7 more years
if he keeps avg what hes avg now, he will be top 20
LeBron isn't top 3 for me, hes most likely top 15 IMO.
your breathing card has been revoked
how is your top 5 looking like?
