It is a steal for Houston at face value, but it is actually a pretty solid trade for the Lakers, they allow their young core even more court time and will start to lose more games. The Lakers have a top-3 protected pick that will go to the suns if it falls out of the top 3 and especially considering how great this draft class is projected to be, it makes far more sense to tank the rest of the season land in the top-3 make a good pick and then try to grab the 8th seed next season (So that the Suns won't get a crazy high pick). I don't at all understand why they took on Corey Brewers contract though, it doesn't expire until 2018.

I understand that statistically this is his best year yet, but I don't really see how this will help them. They already have a 6th man, so his production and 18.7 ppg will go down, and because he's a vet, he'll probobly retire soon. More of a trade for the near future, not one with a lasting impact. Overall trade: B+
