He is not worth the max.... He hasn't done much of anything this year

You can't tell your butt from a hole in the ground. He is young, lots of developing to do, and had a great season. If he isn't worth the max not many are.

IMO, there should only be 10-15 guys with max contracts, and FOR SURE you should't have one of you aren't an all star. I really like Barnes but he is not deserving of 25M a year.

You also have to look at it like this.
Does Ginobli deserve a 15 million deal? Probably not. Why did he get one. Because he is worth 15m in the spurs locker room.
Dallas paid Harrison Barnes because we have no franchise player (Dirk is about to go to the nursing home.) So the money wasn't for Harrison Barnes superstar play. It was for a cornerstone to a franchise.

"at this point" dudes 24, putting up points, rebounds, and is doing it efficiently. I can see him being a good defender and a 24 ppg scorer if he truly locks down the three

Barnes has taken his game to the next level this season - it is awesome to since, after so many people put him down for not having the mental "drive" to be 20+ ppg scorer. Well here he is, a solid and consistent SF who can score at will and is starting to defend a bit better too. Awesome job!

He scored 7.5 more points this year while shooting an almost career low 35% from three. 19.2 ppg, 5 rpg, 1.5 apg this season. His scoring has steadily improved but his rebounding and passing have not through out his career. I need to see more from him to validate that contract he has.

He came to UNC with the intention of being a one and done type player. Tar Heels fans every where were excited about Barnes, the next KD or so. He stayed 3 years and showed off some flashes but not quite what we all expected. Going to Golden State was huge for him, but he never maintained a pure rotation and found himself coming off of the bench. Dallas threw a lot of money at him and right now he's earning some of it. He's only 24 with plenty of time to become a top player in this league.
