Nah, if Rodman is one of your bigs you need some size next to him. I have small bigs but I never run two of them in the same lineup. Unseld and Gasol for the starters and Towns and Brand off the bench

Not pointless. This Rodman would by my pick for heavy minutes as a starter or heavy minute replacement.
But Wallace still has use as an end-of-bench guy to bring in for critical defensive possessions. He's not as fast as Rodman but he's 2" taller and 20 pounds heaver. Running them both, together, as game-on-line defensive stoppers, is a nice luxury to be able to turn to.

Let's be real, Bob McAdoo is basically the same as Ben defensively with gold instead of HOF defensive stopper. And then he adds on handles, a deadly middy, and a post game

There's no question regarding McAdoo being more useful overall. But I'm talking about being #11, 12, or 13 on the bench specifically for critical defensive possessions, especially when there is opportunity to call a timeout to do offensive switch.
In which case, Wallace still is viable as a defensive specialist. He's meaningfully better than McAdoo in that regard, aside from Acceleration:

I keep 3 bronzes on the end of my bench to save MT. And the only defensive stats that truly matter in my opinion are lateral quickness, pass perception, steal, MAYBE block, and shot contest. And McAdoo is pretty much right on par with Wallace in all of those except for steal. Other than those stats it's mainly height, speed, strength, and rebounding that matter

What you value is valid. I'm not trying to say that you should do anything different.
My point is that, for someone who wants to use those last three slots for guys who are very situational role players, Wallace still makes sense. McAdoo is close in most respects, as you note. The Steal, like you say, is the major difference. I think it's a legit major difference.
Remember: this is for a end-of-bench slot that you don't even use for someone you'd play at all.
So for those of us who rather cover all possible contingencies, rather than reduce Contracts cost, Wallace is still potentially in play.

He was a 4/3 they used as a 5 in certain situations. He could shoot from time to time. He just didn't care about that! He was a 93-94 at his very best for moments! The man locked down Shaq for goodness sake! It's still a fantasy game though so boosted stats are inevitable!

I pulled him and have used him at SF and PF, and he's been excellent at either. At SF, he's great against LeBron, Durant and Kawhi. At PF, I haven't noticed his lack of height coming into play. Same with the Unseld. Both underrated cards.....helps that I play either at PF along with giants like Yao and Muresan though.

For those who doesn't know he can score, I just wanna mention this:
before he changed his focus onto Rebs, he scored 11.6 pts per game in 26 mins. He didn't shoot 3 that much, but he could make some if he wanted, 31.7% made out of 101 in 91'-92'. And if you watched Bulls game a lot, you'll also find that he had a good hook shot as well as a decent mid-range shooting ability.
