For some reason, I wanted a 97 Jerry West, that happened. I wanted a 96 Elgin Baylor, that happened. I wanted a 98 or 99 Wilt, and a 98 Wilt came out.
2k saw this comment and didnt want the people to get what they wanted so they changed the ratings
You know he said LBJ is better than MJ on a interview
Why are people so butt hurt about Lebron James and Michael Jordan.
In the beginning of his career people doubted Micheal Jordan to ever win a ring because people said things like: "He is a ball hog" "He can only dunk". Now at the end of his career however people declared him to be the greatest player of all time. The same could happen with Lebron as he still has a chance to surpass Michael Jordan.
LBJ IS BETTER THAN MJ

Bill Russell: 11 Rings
MJ: 6 Rings
LeBron: Never Lost in 1st Round
MJ: Lost 3 times in 1st Round
We can go on, but if your only argument is team achievements then MJ certainly wouldn't be your GOAT.
He only did that because he had pippen who did Lebron have? No one and he did it by himself
Lebron did it by himself ? So Dwane Wade, who is 11time all star. Averaging 23 points a game for his career, 5 rebounds 5 assists nearly 2 steals and a block a game nobody ? Or chris bosh who was a top 3 PF at the time. Or how about most recent with Kyrie irving being top 3 point guard now hitting the game winning shot, because lebron didnt win it the year before without him. Or how about Ray allan, another one who hit a game winner for lebron because he couldnt against the spurs in game 6 when they were one defensive rebound away from being champions.
2 rings with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh
1 ring with prime Kyrie Irving, 3pt shooting from JR Smith, defense from Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love who didn't do that good but still contributed a bit
kyrie is no where near his prime lol 28-29 is prime hes still developing.
He is not in his prime, but you are basically saying he didn't peform well, he performed fantastically
never said that, you can perform at an extremely high level while still developing
Then what were you even trying to prove???
you said it was prime kyrie, I begged to differ.
You are bad at reading by the way, I said, "He is not in his prime, but you are basically saying he didn't perform well, he performed fantastically". I even said he is not in his prime yet.
in your comment above you stated, word for word, "1 ring with prime Kyrie Irving, 3pt shooting from JR Smith, defense from Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love who didn't do that good but still contributed a bit". so you said kyrie was in his prime, so don't talk about me reading anything if you don't even know what you said.
Jr. Didn't do shit and Kylie helped him a bit
LeBron probably would have lost the series if it weren't for Kyrie
a little bit. 25ppg nearly 2 steals 3 rebounds 5 assists shooting 47 from the field , 44% from 3, and 87% from the line is not a little bit.
LeBron is better then MJ for reasons you just stated yourself, LeBron at 31 has all of those accomplishments while coming pretty close to passing several of MJs and MJ didn't even start doing this until he was 29, and you cant take into account lebrons losses because everytime he lossed besides the first Mavs seris he was the underdog, LeBron has been to 7 straight finals which is umatched by MJ and he led them to a comeback on one of the greatest teams ever. Jordans losses usually came before his trips to the titles where he everntually won over teams that were older and clearly not as food as the bulls, every team he beat he had to wait until they got old, pistons. jazz and even the Celtics.
When 13 seasons played
Jordan: 6 rings, 5 MVPs
LBJ: 3 rings, 4 MVPs
Jordan is a stat booster that had to wait until the teams he couldn't beat got older so he could beat them. Lebron should've had more MVPs like the year DRose won but they just didn't give it to him for the fact they wanted to give it to someone else so he should have at least 5. Lebron has less rings in 13 seasons but had the same amount of championships but LeBron has more appearances. For more than half of lebrons career he didn't have any help at all on the team unlike Jordan with pippen and gervin.
But when he had no help, he didn't win a ring, plus, you are one of those people who forget Mo Williams and Zyrundas Ilguskas, right?
ok don't compare mo Williams to the help that Jordan, yeah he didn't win a ring but he took a terrible team to the finals to face one of the best teams ever in the 06' spurs team. As for Zydrunas he was an average big man at best. a 7'3" center that never averaged over 9.4 rebounds per game while shooting a career 47% which are both average.
Fucking get off the site... "average center"
yeah lol, AVERAGE do you need me to say it louder. you could find many centers even in todays game who can give you those numbers, you can like and respect a player but it doesn't mean he wasn't average compared to centers throughout NBA history. if you think he was an all time great then you have to say Marcin Gortat is an all time great because his career averages are about the same, and I'm sure that's not the only one you could make a case for. Greg Monroe average more career points and rebounds while shooting almost the same % are you going to put him on the same pedestal as Zydrunas? Yes and that pedestal is average.
Last time I checked an average player doesn't make the all star game... never did I say big z was an all time great all I'm saying was he was an above average player when he played... just like Marcin is am above average player right now.
and here is a link showing you players that were average and made an all star team, its been done before buddy
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/vote-worst-nba-player-all-star-team-article-1.2102329
None of those players put up an average stat line. lol and Zydrunas had consistently good numbers throughout.
BJ Armstrong and Horace Grant also made the all-star game. I guess they were the greatest players as well.
Did I ever say zydrunas was one of the greatest players? All I said was that he was above average
MJ left the Bulls and they were a 2nd seed.
LeBron left the Cavs and they were NBA worst.
Please don't try to argue that LeBron had much help...
no hes not.... Gortat is an average player. He was an average player that played above average at times but if you put ANY center on a team with LeBron and no other scorer I can guarantee they will average the same stats that Zydrunas did, 15 and 8 with 1 block as a 7'3" center shouldn't warrant an all star game
bullshit. You obviously do not know wtf you are talking about.. You are one of those people who go on basketball reference and look at how many points someone averages and determines how good they are.. Marcin is not an average center or his PER would be average. But it is above.
He averaged closer to 2 blocks his entire career so idk wtf you are talking about..
His PER suggests that he was a border line star in the nba when he played.
You realize there was 45 players in the NBA with a PER of 20+ right? Ilgauskas achieved that twice in his career.
Of those 45, 16 of those players are NBA Centers.
Among them are Enes Kanter with a PER of almost 24, Jonas Valanciunas, Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, and Javale McGee with a PER of 25.26
PER is far from a perfect stat, but even that stat doesn't at all suggest Ilgauskas was a star.
And it doesn't take a great player to make the all-star team once, especially considering when your on a winning team coach voters are much more favorable to put you on the team. Its like the Hawks when Jeff Teague and Kyle Korever made it, people want to put players on winning teams onto the All-Star game.
Oops, thought we were still talking about Ilgauskas lol.
Point still valid as Gortat only accomplished a PER of 20+ once in his career.
Do you even realize how much help LeBron needed to finally get a ring?
look at the teams he playes in the finals, that spurs team in 06 no way was he winning that. Then the Mavs series he should've won that's the only one that you can knock him for. Then the next loss to the spurs wade was no where to be found and chris bosh was a little above average but not a dynamic superstar that he needed to be to beat that spurs '13 team. Then you go to the warrior when kyrie and love went out and he gave one of thje best finals ever even though he lost. Everyone needs help even Jordan he had way better teams then LeBron has ever had only exception is the 2012 heat. Lebron took a 17 win team to almost making the playoffs the very next year while Jordan had Oakley and gervin and barley won in the playoffs until he was paired up with pippen. Lebron takes any team he is on to the finals which makes him hands down the GOAT. Put him on the sixers this year they go to the finals.
Seriously, LeBron has had less help than MJ to go up against more talented teams. People talk about how much help LeBron has had, yet his team, in 8 goes, has only been favored ONCE in the NBA finals.
Dwyane Wade was a star next to LeBron for two seasons. After that his age started to show and he was little help. Sure you have Chris Bosh too, but I'd probably rather have a deeper team than just Chris Bosh.
The team he has right now is probably the best he's ever had, yet he has to go up against a team with Curry, KD, Klay, and Draymond.
People talk about the East being weak, but compare the teams LeBron has played in the ECF over his career to the teams MJ played and the teams MJ played in the ECF are barely better. When comparing the kinds of teams that LeBron has had to play in the finals vs. MJ there is no comparison.
I have no problem with someone picking MJ over LeBron, but if you don't think its at least an argument, either way, your a fool.
How does this have 3 upvotes. I love lebron james but he is not better than MJ
no
Show 11 replies...Ya
MJ has a higher PER, more rings, more finals MVPs, more MVPs, less Finals losses, more PPG, more SPG, and more
Rings don't matter and you should compare stats not championships anyone can win a ring
More PPG, SPG, higher PER, FT%, and that happens in less MPG than LeBron
I like this card sonn where is kareem's card at???
IKR, 2k had time to make a ricky ledo card, but no kareem? smh
Your so hip lmao
Show 6 replies...IKR, I'm the coolest kid around. I noticed they also don't have a card for Hakeem, and they don't have good cards for Curry, Lebron, Carmelo etc. What is 2k doing?
Omg they don't have a card for hakeem! I didn't even know lmao, but yes LeBron is better then Stephen Curry so there ratings should be higher. #WhatIs2kDoing
I'm a Dubs fan, but they need to make the two playoff-like cards again. LeBron obvs with a 99, and probably a 98 for Curry. (Even though he is like a god to me, I don't think he deserves a 99, maybe for the regular season)
Lol your right the dubs do have a high percentage to win it all I can see what u mean, BTW I just followed you cuz your good at making points #Onpoint
Yeah, I followed you back cause your not a Curry hater :P
I've been a dubs fan since '12-'13 btw, not a bandwagon
Why does 2K keep getting Jerry West's measurables wrong? West was measured at 6'4.5" with a 6'9" wingspan before his rookie year. As a 34 year old, he recorded a max vertical reach of 11'4". 6'4.5" with a 6'9" wingspan places him at about the same standing reach as John Wall, who is 6'4" with a 6'9.25" inch wingspan. Wall had a standing reach of 8'5.5", so we'll say West's was 8'6". This places his vertical at about 34 inches. That is deserving of around an 80 vertical, definitely not a 45. And that's at the age of 34. Thereby it's reasonable to assume that a young Jerry West had a vertical approaching, if not surpassing, 40 inches
did you know? its his silhouette on the nba logo:
"In 1969, Alan Siegel, who oversaw the design of Jerry Dior's Major League Baseball logo a year prior, created the modern NBA logo inspired by the MLB's. It incorporates the silhouette of the legendary Jerry West based on a photo by Wen Roberts, although NBA officials denied a particular player as being its influence because, according to Siegel, "They want to institutionalize it rather than individualize it. It's become such a ubiquitous, classic symbol and focal point of their identity and their licensing program that they don't necessarily want to identify it with one player." The iconic logo debuted in 1971 and would remain a fixture of the NBA brand" (source wikipedia)
approx how much mt would it take to get this card starting at 350 cards?
