The definition of rookie:
"a member of an athletic team in his or her first full season in that sport."
I'm not a 76ers fan or even a Ben Simmons fan but stfu he's a rookie.
Simmons is in his first playing year as a NBA player, technically he is a rookie. He is also deserving of the award so please stop the hate.
I don't hate Simmons, it's just he has a little advantage over other rookies, Mitchell was drafted into the NBA in 2017 but lost the 2017 ROTY to a 2016 player. Mitchell deserved it, we all know he did.
Lmao no, no one thinks that stfu
Show 2 replies...Take Simmons off the 76ers and I guarentee they still make a run at the eighth spot in the East. Take Spida Mitchell off the Jazz and they are a bottom 3 team in the west. Donovan is more valuable to his team. So yes, he deserved it more
That’s it 2k18 is the worst basketball game of all time
for giving the roty a pd like every other award winner
Getting ROTY still really big tho
Show 10 replies...I know. I was saying I don't understand why you're mad at 2K for giving him a PD like every other award winner
Oh. I’m an idiot. But however, let me say what I just said to @SubParSUPERSTAR. “Big men don’t deserve these 3 ratings. People like Baron Davis and Penny Hardaway don’t deserve pink diamonds. And now THIS?” Wha I just said is all true
Hey, Hardaway was a beast man, injuries took over. If he is underserving than Dirk and T-Mac aren't deserving. They all haven't done anything now but were extraordinary in their prime! They killed it. Like Bryan in MyCareer said "You play hard, you get a card."
lol
But to have a PD, you must one of the greatest, or do something amazing. Plus by your injury logic, I don’t see grant hill with a PD. Dirk deserves a PD because 1, he’s hit 30,000 points, one of 7 people to do so. He is also the first big man known for shooting threes, which revolutionized the game as we know it. Plus, when did T-Mac or Penny Hardaway win a CHAMPIONSHIP with basically no one else at their level (maybe terry).
for sure
Wait so you agree
Ya'll said that when PD Lonzo come out.
Tell me ONE TIME where Lonzo deserved a card above 84
Show 13 replies...I'm not saying Lonzo deserved it, I'm saying ya'll been saying the same shit for a long-ass time now.
It’s true tho
Yeah well no shit it just gets old hearing the same shit all year long.
Old or not it’s just very true that this is basically the worst 2k game of all time
Nah 2k17 was worse.
Absolutely not 2K17>2K18
lol no you crazy? 2k18 is the worst myteam, but the MyLeague is amazing.
Yeah I agree, I enjoyed and played the least amount of MyTEAM I ever had.. I loved the blacktop/gauntlet cuz you could get 15 minutes games in and they were super fun... but i guess people complained about getting random shitty teams against a god squad sometimes so they took it out smh... I blame Chris Smoove lol
And? The myteam is so bad that should immediately make it the worst 2k. Thee are 38 PINK DIAMONDS, while in 2K17, there were 13! And every single pink diamond in 2K17 was absolutely deserved (idk about Kevin Love tho). SO MANY PLAYERS have undeserved pink diamonds in 2k18!
As much Facts as A Fax Machine.
Hell yeah it is
Show 2 replies...Why exactly are they the worst?...Because they're giving people who don't stalk Twitter like a psychopath a chance at these cards?
No because they ruined the game from the start. Big men don’t deserve these 3 ratings. People like Baron Davis and Penny Hardaway don’t deserve pink diamonds. And now THIS?
Wait a second he aint cookie
I laughed so hard reading this @ilikedadjokes21 @ThePackDude24
Packed this beast and Harden in 1 10 pack box today. I was so hype
ben simmons gets a pink diamond in his first season in the nba, as lebron, one of the greatest players of all time takes over 10 seasons to get a pink diamond
he sigh his rookie deal when he was drafted so he has 2 years left on contact cuz u get a for year deal donovon has 3 so ben is not a rookie
signing a contract when he was a rookie doesn't mean shit, its when you play your first nba game that you're considered a rookie, so ben is a rookie since he played his first game last season...
Any suggestions for my lineup?
https://2kmtcentral.com/18/lineups/587165/current-lineup
Why is it a playoffs moments? *cough cough* 1 point in a playoff game. At least Donovan didn’t do that trash
Undeserving. Mitchell caried a garbage squad to 5th place in the west while Simmons played on a great team in a garbage conference and barely had a better record. Awards should be given based on how you impact the game, not on statistics.
Repeat after me, he is not a rookie
No
He had NBA training for an extra year. He is not a rookie
Show 37 replies..."He had NBA training for an extra year" But he had a broken foot tho
He was still able to get into the 76ers system
He had training but never played a NBA game, so he is still a rookie.
He had training. Which is an advantage over Mitchell. He is not a rookie!
So because Jayson Tatum had extra training with a professional coach before coming into the league he is also not considered a rookie? Your logic is stupid. It's not Simmons fault that he is just better
Coach K is an ass coach the fuck are you talking about
Lol go look up the definition of a rookie you idiot. He played as much NBA minutes as Donovan which means he’s a rookie. The NBA voted him ROOKIE of the year so apparently he is a rookie, and better than Mitchell as well.
He's the worst ROTY ever
Don't ever disrespect the GOAT ever again
I didn’t disrespect Michael Jordan
Did you just compare Michael Jordan to Malcolm Brogdon. MJ is no where near the talent level of Jordan
How MJ never lost in the finals brogdon’ never been in the finals
Oh he'll be there. Also he was in the ACC championship and won that
And? We are talking NBA here. Plus, do you want me to name ALL of MJ’s accomplishments, WHICH HE ACHIEVED WHILE PLAYING IN THE NBA
Do you want me to name all of Malcolm Brogdon's accomplishments?

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore?gameId=400873156
I give you props my dear sir for your creativity.
I had Virginia winning it all that year
That is by far the most depressing game I have ever seen for Virginia. We were so close and it was Brogdon's last game too
Go ahead. Won’t be a tenth of MJ’s
-2014 and 2015 ACC regular Season champion
-2014 ACC Tournament champion
-Two time All-american
-2016 ACC player of the year
-2016 ACC defensive play of the year
-Three-time first team All-ACC
-111-29 career record at UVA
-2017 ROTY
6× NBA champion, 6× NBA Finals MVP, 5× NBA Most Valuable Player, 14× NBA All-Star, 3× NBA All-Star Game MVP, 10× All NBA First Team, All-NBA Second Team,
NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 9× NBA All-Defensive First Team, NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Rookie First Team, 10× NBA scoring champion, 3× NBA steals leader, 2× NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, No. 23 retired by Chicago Bulls, No. 23 retired by Miami Heat JUST OUT OF RESPECT , 3× AP Athlete of the Year, 2× USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year, Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year, NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team, NCAA champion, Consensus national college player of the year, 2× Consensus first-team All-American, ACC Player of the Year, 2× First-team All-ACC, ACC Rookie of the Year, No. 23 retired by the University of North Carolina, and 4 USA gold medals.
Didn't get retired by the University of Virginia so he's automatically not better than Brogdon
Brogdon didn’t get his number retired by a team he never played for.
Wow an NBA sucked Jordan's dick for a game. Doesn't make him the GOAT
For a game? How? How for a game? That’s why LeBron didn’t wear 23 in Miami. The heat appreciated his game so much that retired his number. No team will EVER, MARK MY WORDS, EVER, Love Malcom Brogdon that much
The Virginia Cavaliers? He is literally treated like a god at Virginia games
And at Virginia he won the Consensus national college player of the year, ACC Player of the Year, 2× First-team All-ACC, ACC Rookie of the Year, and got on two Consensus first-team All-Americans
Yeah, and he's treated like a god there
Did he even win any of those?
Yes tf
Only has Consensus first-team All-American, Consensus second-team All-American, First-team All-ACC, 2× ACC Defensive Player of the Year
You forgot the regular season and tournament champions, also why are you saying this, I literally gave you a list of the things he has done
Michael’s list is so much bigger it’s bigger than Schindler's list
He's overrated. Brogdon would dunk on him
Look you damn stupid piece of sh--, brogdon is not a basketball god, plus Jordan isn't overrated, thats like saying Kobe's 81 points is not better than lebron game 1 playoof game.
@Bogotac tell this man about how Jordan is not overrated
Doesn't he hate MJ cause he's a Lebron fan, you're getting the wrong guy
No, he will still tell you how Jordan is better while hating on him, and if that dosen’t work, @relord
@UVAfanisbackagain https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.fcgi?request=1&sum=1&player_id1_hint=Michael+Jordan&player_id1_select=Michael+Jordan&y1=2003&player_id1=jordami01&idx=players&player_id2_hint=Malcolm+Brogdon&player_id2_select=Malcolm+Brogdon&y2=2018&player_id2=brogdma01&idx=players too lazy to type it out, cuz ur probably ignore it lol
malcolm brogdon: ROTY, all rookie
michael jordan: ROTY, all rookie, DPOTY, 5xMVP, 9x all defensive, 3x steals champion, 10x scoring champion, 11x all nba, and hall of fucking fame
i didn't mention anything about rings didn't i?
i know that ur a troll but ok
W Donovan Mitchell fans r just salty
gave me 3 downvotes too because they can't understand league rules/the english language
I'm a jazz fan but I didn't really care but I kinda think it was funny when donny started walking around with a sweatshirt saying the definition of a rookie
Yeah I know there's not much difference, considering they're both 21 also.
So what if someone plays 80 games... does that make them a rookie next season?
The NBA determined that once you play 1 game, it qualifies as a season. So Julius Randle was not eligible to win ROTY in his 2nd year, despite only playing 13 minutes in his first season before being injured.
https://www.sbnation.com/2015/10/16/9558069/julius-randle-los-angeles-lakers-nba-rookie-of-the-year-ineligible
So if a guy played one game then got injured, would he be a rookie in the next season? Also if the guy put up 50 then he has averaged 50 points so he could win ROTY right?
simmons never played a game last year
I’m just saying that if a guy played one game but got injured would he be a rookie next season?
No
So if he scored 50 points and 5 steals and 4 blocks has he averaged that for the season?
I guess
So he could win roty on one game?
no because people obviously dont look only at averages and when they do they would consider the fact he only played one fucking game
Why are you coming back and complaining about this now?
cause im bored
Yeah no
I asume you are Joking...
Embiid last year was way better than any other Rookie but didn't win it because he was out with an injury a hell of a lot of games
Damn some people take JOKES way too fucking literally.
