Dell Curry '94
Written by HoopAndLife
So it was Friday when the 20th Anniversary Stephen Curry Packs came out and I saw this diamond Dell Curry. I looked him up on the auction and he was going for around for about 13k. I quickly scooped this card up and played a couple matches with him, and this man is a budget baller.
Bought for: 13,300 MT
- Outside Scoring: This card's shooting speaks for itself. He has Hall Of Fame Limitless and even though his release is slow, his jumper is money. For me this card is most effective shooting when he is at the wings. My opponent was off balling and sagging off of Dell Curry. This allowed Curry to score off of pick and rolls. His free throw release also is money.
- Inside Scoring: Dell can do a little bit in the paint. Despite his height, Dell blows by defenders to get a wide open lane. He also can draw a couple of fouls here and there.
- Playmaking: Dell throws a lot of lobs either off of pick and rolls or when driving to the basket to either to kick it out to the open man in the corner. He's got that hall of fame dimer so you know he can throw some assists.
- Rebounding: Curry weakness is grabbing rebounds. Because of this, my opponent got many second chance putbacks. This is a minor weakness so don't be worried.
Recommended Strategy: "A recommended strategy that I would use is to have Dell Curry trail the play and then pass the ball to Curry so he has a wide open jumper. This helps the opponent to forget about Curry. "
Other Comments: (optional) "I run him at shooting guard, but he could play point guard. "
Use if: "You want a budget diamond that can shoot the lights out."
Don't use if: "You need a guard that plays better defense."
Bottom Line: "Cop this budget beast."
