Marvin Bagley III
Triple Threat Beast!
Written by jpsuperstar
I've been using Marvin in triple threat for a few days now with PD Magic and Durant. He is one of the best triple threat players out there. He has the upper hand in almost every matchup with his size and speed. Easily cuts past centers, and bullies guards and smaller forwards in the paint. He almost seems more reliable shooting open threes than the 98 Durant with HOF shooting badges.
Bought for: 2,150 MT
- Inside scoring: Good dunk animations are hard to block
Shooting: He is a very reliable 3pt shooter when open. Even without greens he usually makes it from 3. Often greens mid range shots.Very smooth release. Not the fastest, but easy to green or get full whites. Post Spin Badge is HOF. Very powerful, especially against undersized matchups. Good rebounder: Gets in good position for offensive boards. He has great size at 6'11 for a PF. He can only be bullied by guys like Shaq. Weaknesses:
- He isn't a shot creator. Don't rely on him to dribble much, or take moving shots.
- The only matchup he has trouble with is Giannis. Nobody else gives him trouble like the Greek Freak does. It's hard to score with him in the 20% of games where you encounter him.
Recommended Strategy: Drive and dish to Marvin for open corner three. Pass to him on the cut for a dunk.
Use if: "You want an athletic bigman who can shoot, finish, and rebound.
Don't use if: "You need a power forward who can create his own shot.
Bottom Line: " Great value. He has a spot on my pink diamond team.
