Bob McAdoo

Written by johnnykazz4l

Bought for: 100,000 MT

Strengths: — Elite inside scorer — Incredible all-around defender, all areas of the court. — 98/98/98 dunking with 95 vertical & HOF Posterizer badge allows him to destroy the rim and anyone attempting to stop him — I used a diamond shoe that has +5 Post Fadeaway, so he is remarkable in the post and moves quickly and fluidly with up-and-under moves, and also has the option to hit — Hits open mid-range shots consistently in pick-and-pop scenarios.

Weaknesses: — Does not hit the three-point shot with enough regularity to use him as a stretch big. However, I have found that I make about 2 of every 10 attempts with this card. He is not as useless as others at this task, but naturally, there are much better options if you need a stretch big for five-out offense.

Recommended Strategy: — Traditional inside-scoring, paint-protecting big man. His lateral quickness, espescially with a shoe upgrade, allows him to defend extremely well against stretch bigs. Due to his height and excellent perimeter defense, he is extremely well-suited for playing the 4 against 5-out offenses, and 9 times out of 10 will use his 95 strength to destroy these stretch bigs in the post.

Use if: You want an elite traditional big

Don't use if: You are trying to compete with a 5-out offense

Bottom Line: We finally got a McAdoo legend card. You really can't go wrong, just be aware of the type of offense you are trying to run before putting him out there.

PD Mcadoo or PD Blake, and why?

Depends on your style of play. You will get better defense from McAdoo, but better shooting from Blake. For 90% of people, I would say Blake. This game is very hard to keep up competitively with traditional inside big men as the majority of people use stretch bigs. I have since stopped using McAdoo as my PF and have switched to Jermaine O'Neal from the High Voltage collection dynamic duo'd with my Danny Granger. When I had McAdoo, I did have to adjust my play slightly but I had no issues. If you rely on shooting from your PF, hands down Blake is a better choice. If you just want elite defense, excellent post play, and reliable rebounding, get McAdoo.

thanks for the detail, was inquiring because i had a god tier amethyst Mcadoo some years back that was a monster in triple threat. I've had blake for about 3 months and he doesnt let me down and i know his jumper well so i think imma keep him, thanks.

Do you play him at the 4!? Because I feel like he would not be able to hit the post shots consistently against guys like Porzingis, Hakeem, Kareem, Shaq etc due to his small height. He might be most effective at the 3 as a post scoring bully

I do use him at the 4. TBH, I've found that 80% of matchups in Unlimited will be against 5-out three-point scoring teams. Not too many people that I run into who even use the post in this years game. Having said that, some do, and I mean I haven't had any trouble in the post with him
