Player Review
Dirk Nowitzki '98
KING DIRK THE SNIPER!!!
Written by Nba2kGod11
They really juiced up PD Dirk Nowitzki's shooting this much, like I know he was a great shooter in real life but this, on a 7-footer in December? Man that's kind of crazy if you ask me. Today I'll be doing a mini review on him!
Bought for: He's right over 200k right now, but will drop later. At this price I don't think he's worth it but nonetheless this card is a novelty.
Strengths:
-
Shooting: There's no describing Dirk's lights-out shooting ability from deep. He just doesn't miss. The 91 3pt is nice but isn't even the impressive part. This card comes with HOF RANGE EXTENDER!!! Only the 3rd card in the game with it and remember, we're talking about a 7-footer right here. Nearly all of his 3pt attempts will be off a catch-and-shoot scenario so HOF Catch-and-Shoot is huge, along with HOF Corner Specialist. Dirk will hit an insane amount of whites too with HOF Flexible, I can't imagine how cheesy that badge will be. Also comes with Gold Hot-Zone Hunter with hot zones nearly everywhere, Green Machine, and Deadeye. If they made his release half-decent this is one of the best shooters in the game, period. It was slow last year but I think it was OK on the amethyst card. Everything else is just icing on the cake at this point, because just his ability to be a consistently accurate sharpshooter from downtown is enough to make him a top-tier card for certain playstyles like mine.
-
Dirk is always quite cheesy in the post. Obviously he has his signature overpowered fadeaway; HOF Deep Fades + 98 post-fade is unbelievable. But HOF Post-Spin Technician and Gold Dropstepper is handy as well, leaving the defender guessing.
-
Dunking actually looks pretty good for a Dirk card
-
Will be fantastic on the glass with Gold Rebound Chaser, Box, and Worm
-
Gold Intimidator and Silver Post-Move Lockdown compensate for his bad defensive stats
- Normal 3 BtB on a 7-footer might actually be fun, it's a good one
Weaknesses:
-
Of course he's gonna be really slow, Dirk isn't an athletic freak everyone knows
- Not the best on the defensive end, he's way too slow to guard anyone on the perimeter and 67 block just isn't it. However the Intimidator badge alone is going to get you some free misses.
Recommended Strategy: Give him the rock whenever he's open, King Dirk will hit from halfcourt! Running pick-and-pops and looking for mismatches will be effective too.
Use if: You want the single best stretch big in the game!
Don't use if: You need athleticism or amazing defense
Bottom Line: Not worth the MT but an insane card!!!

Nowhere near 5 stars.
His Jumper is MONEY as always, and he comes with intimidator and HOF range. might have to cop this card ngl
I was thinking about it but he's way too expensive rn, his jumper is not money -_- it sucked in 2k20 too -_- just ask @Anonymouses -_-
anon trash dirk jumper is the easiest to green in the game (for a big)
Did you know that trey burke base/kobe upper on quick release timing is the tmac jumper from last year?
Sabonis release is cash.
oh well AI's release timing is quick and he has burke base I tried it out in offline
you sure his release still bad?
It’s TERRIBLE
ok even worse than last years? why is dirk's jumpshot always so trash
Probably worse.
ok lol still dunno why he has fucking HOF range extender
He’s a 3.4 star.
no I think he'd be good for me, basically sabonis 2.0
His release is awwwwwful. Even with the stats, you’re not getting a shot off before someone can close out.
