No, Haliburton is a buget beast
He's like 7ft in real life so he could totally play small ball five these days, and he played shooting guard his rookie year.
I believe you
I believe you. I didn't see any corner threes, but I'll take your word for it.
Ok. I went back and watched as much Bob Pettit footage as I could and I'll give you this. For his time, his outside shooting at the PF position was good. I'm willing to give you that. But what qualified as outside shooting back then was really just anything beyond 10 feet. Pettit was hitting 10-15 footers, which for his time meant he was a good shooter.
So you're right. He was a good shooter for his day.
But what was considered long distance back then is now considered to be high-post or mid-range.
Can we agree?
He was a great player for sure! I'm not arguing that. He just wasn't a 3-point shooter. They 3-point line wasn't implemented until 1979, and while he had range from the post he wasn't taking many outside jumpers.
Actually, Bob Pettit wasn't really a shooter. I hate to contradict you cause you're on my side, but Pettit was more of a rebounding finisher type at the PF position. 2K gave him a killer jump shot because his play style wouldn't translate to the modern game. He doesn't have enough skills so his overall would be terrible. 2k does that with all the old white guys
A week later... still waiting...
